Saskatchewan Polytechnic first post-secondary institution to receive OEM certification in North America

Certified Collision Care OEM certification recognizes organizations that have made investments in tools, equipment and training required to ensure vehicles are properly repaired to auto manufacturer specifications

September 25, 2018 – Saskatchewan Polytechnic is the first and only post-secondary institution recognized as a Certified Collision Care Provider in North America. Certified Collision Care recognizes Sask Polytech’s Auto Body Technician programs as market leaders that train students to repair vehicles to auto manufacturer specifications.

“As vehicle construction and design rapidly evolve, it is challenging for educational facilities to keep pace with change,” says Leanne Jefferies, vice-president of Canadian Operations at Assured Performance Certified Collision Care. “I am thrilled to have Saskatchewan Polytechnic be the first institution to achieve OEM certification with Fiat Chrysler, Ford, Kia and Nissan through the new Certified Collision Care Technical Institute & Community College Certification program. This achievement demonstrates their high level of commitment to excellence in providing students with relevant, up-to-date automotive training.”

Certified Collision Care manages the collision repair facility OEM certification programs for Fiat Chrysler, Ford, Nissan and Kia in Canada. Sask Polytech is the first and only post-secondary institution to be recognized for its investment in tools, equipment and training through the just-launched Certified Collision Care — Technical Institute & Community College Certification. Sask Polytech has made the investments needed to keep pace and train students in repair techniques that meet OEM requirements.

“This is a very proud moment to showcase the level and quality of training Sask Polytech provides our Auto Body Technician program students,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, Sask Polytech president and CEO. “The OEM certification from Certified Collision Care emphasizes the world-class education our students receive and will help to increase their job-readiness upon graduating.”

To receive OEM certification Sask Polytech followed the same rigorous process as collision repair facilities. During the certification process, all compliance is documented and then verified on-site by an inspector.

Sask Polytech offers a one-year certificate and provides the in-school portion of apprenticeship training for the Auto Body Technician programs. The programs provide students with a solid foundation in the knowledge and skills required to work in motor vehicle body repair and refinishing.

En effet, Kia Canada a lancé le programme Centre de carrosserie certifié par KIAle 28 novembre 2017 afin de s’assurer que les propriétaires de véhicules Kia puissentavoir accès àun atelier de réparation de carrosserie certifié qui possède les outils, l’équipement, la formation et les installations nécessaires pour réparer leur véhicule selon les normes du constructeur, et qu’ils profitent d’une expérience client incomparable.Les ateliers de carrosserie qui se rendent à Montréal dans le cadre du CCIF et qui souhaitent obtenir des certifications de constructeurs sont invités à rencontrer l’équipe de Centre de carrosserie certifié lors d’une séance d’information le 24 mai prochain. Le nouveau centre de recherche et de formation automobile de la Société d’assurance publique du Manitoba, situédans leJ.W. Zacharias Physical Damage Research Centre de Winnipeg, a été officiellement certifié par Centre de carrosserie certifié, un organisme ayant développé des partenariats stratégiques avec Fiat Chrysler Canada, Ford du Canada, Nissan Canada et Kia Canada.

Certified Collision Care is proud to announce that Kia Canada is our newest OEM partner within the Certified Collision Care joint effort OEM certification program. Kia Canada launched the Kia Certified Collision Repair Centre program on November 28, 2017 to ensure Kia owners can choose a Certified collision repair provider that has the proper tools, equipment, training and facility required to repair their vehicle to OEM specifications, and that will deliver a best in class collision repair experience.

As a Certified Collision Care Provider, you are now able to add Kia Certified Collision Repair Centre credentials to the other OEM Certifications your facility has achieved through the Certified Collision Care program. Certified shops are automatically recognized as Kia Certified Collision Repair Centres and will be able to leverage exclusive access to Kia OEM certification logos and signage, which are available on your business profile marketing tab.

OEM Certification Signs

Our success in adding new OEMs to our program is exciting and continues to build value to all stakeholders in our program. We are pleased to confirm that there continues to be no additional enrollment fee as we add new OEM partners and make additional OEM Certifications available to your business. It does, however, require us to initiate a nominal fee of $90 to acquire OEM Certification signs. OEM Certification signs can be ordered online, on your shop profile marketing tab.

We will provide renewal stickers to update your existing sign expiry dates automatically upon your successful recertification. New signs are available for purchase online, if desired.

Manitoba Public Insurance earns certification by Certified Collision Care

Manitoba Public Insurance’s new centre for automotive research and training ─ located at the J.W. Zacharias Physical Damage Research Centre in Winnipeg ─ has been officially certified by Certified Collision Care which has strategic partnerships with Fiat Chrysler Canada, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Nissan Canada and Kia Canada for OEM Certification.
